This enourmous natural wonder makes its presence known to all of Sicily every day.So much of Sicily is formed in its physical state as well as cultural being from this mass of nature known as Etna. What an enourmous force of nature. We all stood humbled in its shadow.


Agrigento - Valley of the Temples stands the Greek doric style temples of the 6th century BC.None of us had ever heard of Agrigento before … none of us will ever forget Agrigento. In Agrigento is a place called the Valley of the Temples which is so magnificent that you have to see it in person to believe it. There stands these fabulous temples built so long ago and yet stand there and dare the test of time. What a testament to the ancient Greeks.

and some of us went to connect with our past. Chuck was determined to find anything he could about his family's home town of Prizzi. But what could he fine? So on the last day of the tour, Chuck, Andrea and our tour guide, Carmello, found their way to Prizzi. Chuck found out where/when his grandparents were married, their parents and their parents. He came back from the day in tears feeling so fulfilled. All he could say was, "I can't wait to tell my dad." We all felt tears.

After a 20 minute ferry ride from Sicily to Calabria we visited the Museo Archeologico Nazionale, Reggio Calabria. There we saw the world reknowned bronze statues of the "Young Warriors".
